Land, sea, air search for missing man

Crews are continuing a land, sea and air search for a 19-year-old man who was feared drowned off Encounter Bay, south, of Adelaide.

The search was initially suspended for Kamran Gujari, who was in the water at Petrel Cove, near the popular lookout spot the Bluff.

The search entered its third day on Sunday after he disappeared on Friday when he was swept into rocks while wading with friends at Petrel Cove.

Rain, wind and swell hampered Saturday’s search effort with calmer conditions forecast for the area today.

Witness Lawrie Blakemore said two men on the beach tried to help the man when he was in distress but got into trouble themselves.

“There were two guys trying to rescue him and the guy that went on the rock got trapped there,” he said.
