Out-of-control bushfire in South Australia

· Fire threat in Victoria

The threat posed by a bushfire burning north of Adelaide has reduced, the Country Fire Service (CFS) says.

The CFS issued an emergency warning about the bushfire, burning at Lower Light at 3pm (AEDT) on Saturday.

The fire is near Port Wakefield Road, close to Big Rabbit Road, Earl Road and Gallipoli Road.

As the fire heads towards the town of Mallala, the emergency warning has been downgraded to an “advice” level.

The CFS says although the threat has been reduced, risks are still present.

Residents are urged to check properties for any fires or embers, particularly in roof spaces, under decks, raised floors and in gutters.
