Dreamworld has announced it will permanently decommission the water ride at the centre of last month’s deadly accident at the theme park on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Cindy Low, Kate Goodchild, her brother Luke Dorsett and his partner Roozbeh Araghi died when their raft on the Thunder River Rapids ride flipped over about a fortnight ago.

The theme park said the ride would be closed out of respect for the victims and their families.

Dreamworld also said an independent review had begun into all rides and related operating systems at the park.
