Queensland students suspended in high school porn ring

A group of Year 9 students have been suspended for circulating naked images.

A Queensland high school has suspended 22 pupils after sharing naked photos of students throughout the cohort.

Palm Beach Currumbin High School has told both male and female students involved to stay home, The Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

The newspaper claims the photos are of both sexes, with suspensions ranging from three to 20 days.

It comes after an online pornographic forum targeted students from 70 schools across the country to post naked pictures of underage girls earlier this month.

However, this is said to be a stand-alone incident.

The principal of PBC said he suspended the 22 students for circulating the photos last week.

“Young people are confronted by unprecedented pressures in relation to their online presence,” he said.

“PBC is working with the parents of these students to ensure their young people make better decisions in the future.

“Upon their return, all students will redo the cyber-safety course which will include examining case studies highlighting the dangers of this type of activity.”

The porn-sharing website targeting Australian schoolgirls has since been taken down.
