Brisbane teen dignified in the face of racist rant

A Brisbane teenager has posted footage on YouTube of him calmly deflecting the racist rant of a woman at a bus stop.
She tells the 19-year-old that Australia is “overrun with foreigners” and that he and his family should “go back to their country.”
He was born in Australia but the woman asks where his parents were from, and he tells her his father was born in New Zealand.

The teenager’s proud mother posted the video online, alongside the words: “Today my 19-year-old son taught me how to respond to bigotry with tolerance and integrity. Must take after his mother.”
