Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations supervisor Stephen Johns said the boy suffered critical head injuries and was treated at the scene before being flown to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane with his mother.

“It’s traumatic not only for the family, but also for our paramedics that respond to cases like this,” he said.

It is not known what caused the wall to collapse at this stage.

Workplace Health and Safety authorities are investigating the incident.
