Homicide detectives have charged a 28-year-old man over the murder of his mother in Queensland more than six years ago.

Gold Coast woman Linda Sidon – who was originally from New Zealand – was last seen in June 2009.

She was reported missing 18 months later by a relative in New Zealand, Ms Sidon’s native home.
