Son of missing Gold Coast woman Linda Sidon charged

Homicide detectives have charged a 28-year-old man over the murder of his mother in Queensland more than six years ago.
Gold Coast woman Linda Sidon – who was originally from New Zealand – was last seen in June 2009.
She was reported missing 18 months later by a relative in New Zealand, Ms Sidon’s native home.

New information saw forensic officers on Monday and Tuesday search the housing commission unit Ms Sidon lived in with her son at Ashmore on the Gold Coast.
He has been charged with murder and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
In August, police and SES volunteers searched land at Numbinbah Valley in the Gold Coast hinterland looking for a body.
