A three-year-old boy taken from a childcare centre on Queensland’s Gold Coast has been found safe, police say.

Police had issued a child abduction alert about 8:40pm.

Police said they were looking for a man, known to the child, who had been seen taking the boy from a centre on the Gold Coast about 3:30pm.
