Two teachers and eight students have allegedly been bashed at a private southeast Queensland school.

Police charged two men accused of the assaults at Ipswich Grammar School on Tuesday afternoon.

QldThe incident left several victims with scratches and bruising and one student with a suspected broken hand.

Police say the men also damaged a school vehicle.

An 18-year-old man was charged with five counts of common assault, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence using violence.

His 20-year-old accomplice was charged with three counts of common assault, two counts of wilful damage and assault occasioning bodily harm.

They’ll appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 29.

Headmaster Robert Henderson said neither the staff and students involved, nor the school community, knew who the two men were.

“No serious injuries occurred, and I commend our young men and staff for remaining composed in a very difficult situation,” he said in a statement to AAP.

“Students and staff have been offered counselling, and I have spoken to the parents of the boys involved.”

Mr Henderson said the school was cooperating with police during the investigation and would not be commenting further.
