Charges laid over cat’s blood threat

A young man will face a Gold Coast court on Wednesday charged with setting fire to a car, killing a cat and then using its blood to scrawl a menacing message on a garage door.

The 19-year-old is facing a range of charges over the sickening attack at a home at Arundel last week.

Police allege he went to the home just before 3am on June 16 and torched a vehicle parked in a driveway.

Officers say he then killed a cat – which did not belong to the person he was allegedly trying to intimidate – and used its blood to scrawl the words “Whers my money? Tik tok (sic)” on a garage door.

The man is due to front the Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday on animal cruelty, arson and wilful damage charges.
