Man charged with murder of Korean man

A 28-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a South Korean exchange student in Brisbane.

Police have confirmed Min Tae Kim’s body was found in a shallow grave at a house in Dakar Street, Algester in southwestern Brisbane.

Mr Kim, 28, disappeared after he went to exchange $15,000 for South Korean money for his return home. He had posted an ad on the Gumtree website to get a cheaper exchange rate.

Mr Kim left his Cannon Hill share house with his cash to do a deal with an unknown person about 2pm on Monday. His body was found on Thursday.

The 28-year-old South Brisbane man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
