Qld police seek driver of car seen where body was discovered

Police have a new lead in the investigation into a murder near Gympie in south-east Queensland last month.

The burnt torso of a man was found at Cedar Pocket, but he is yet to be identified.

Senior Sergeant Gregg Davey says they are looking for the driver of a car seen in the area on September 19, the night the crime was committed.

“We’re seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a late model compact car, possibly a hatchback, which was gold or orange, in that colour range,” he said.

“It was seen in that general area in a period before the torso was located and it was actually observed at the actual scene where the torso was dumped.
