Man remanded in custody over millions found in West End shed

A Brisbane man allegedly caught storing drugs, guns and millions of dollars in cash will be tried on 19 charges.

Arian Shabanzadeh was arrested after being pulled over by police as he rode a motorcycle in inner-Brisbane a year ago.

A subsequent search of a storage shed at West End in Brisbane’s inner-city saw officers seize cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, guns and more than $4 million in cash.

The 33-year-old now faces a range of charges, including drug trafficking, production and possession, and weapons offences.

The Brisbane Magistrates Court today heard police obtained phone communications between Shabanzadeh and another man that would be used as evidence.

Shabanzadeh declined to enter a plea and did not apply for bail.

He has been remanded in custody for a Supreme Court trial on a date to be fixed.
