NT Police seek witnesses to fatal Darwin stabbing

A man has died after being stabbed in the stomach in the Darwin CBD overnight.

NT Police are investigating the incident which sent the 36-year-old man to intensive care on Saturday morning.

At about 12:30 am police were called to Cavenagh Street, a main street in Darwin city, where they found the man had been stabbed in the stomach.

He was driven to Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition but died on Saturday afternoon.

A crime scene has been declared, and the area was cordoned off on Saturday morning.

Investigations are ongoing and police are calling for witnesses to the event.
