Woman’s body found in car boot, man arrested at scene

Police are questioning a man after a woman’s body was found in the boot of a car in northern NSW.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Park Street at the beachside town of Evans Head, following reports of a concern for welfare about 8.10am on Friday.
Officers arrived to discover the 60-year-old’s body in the car.
A 39-year-old man, who is known to the woman, was arrested at the scene and taken to Ballina Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.
Police have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident, with inquiries ongoing.
The beachside town of Evans Head is in the Richmond Valley on the far North Coast of NSW.
