NSW Police hunt bogus buyer who drove off with heavily pregnant mum’s kids in hijacked car

Sydney police are hunting a brazen carjacker who drove off with a pregnant mum’s two children in the Mercedes she was trying to sell.

The distraught mother, due to give birth any day now, fell heavily during the encounter.

The man drove about 300m down the road before stopping and ordering the 10-year-old boy and eight-year-old girl out of the car, before driving away at Greenacre on Saturday.

NSW Police said the woman had met two men after one responded to an online advertisement for her car, a 2014 black Mercedes A45 AMG on Saturday.

After taking one of the men in the vehicle, he asked to drive himself. As she got out of the car, he locked the doors and drove away.

“The woman grabbed hold of the door handle but fell over as the car drove off with her two children still inside,” police said.

She was taken to hospital as a precaution. The children were unharmed.

The black Mercedes A45 AMG with NSW registration DZG31F has yet to be located.
