Man charged with murder after woman found dead at Sydney northern beaches home

Police have charged a 25-year-old man with murder after the body of a 50-year-old woman was found inside a home on Sydney’s northern beaches on Monday morning.
Officers said the woman was found in a home on Marine Parade at Avalon Beach about 10:45am following reports of a fatal stabbing.
The man was arrested nearby on Ruskin Rowe and taken to Manly police station.
He has also been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and police said the pair were known to each other.
Road blocks remain in place on Marine Parade as forensic investigators and detectives comb through the house.

Georgia Westwood lives nearby and said she heard a disturbance.
“I was sitting on my balcony just having breakfast and I heard a scream,” she said.
“It sounded like a female.”
The man has been refused bail to appear before Manly Local Court tomorrow.
