A community group’s legal challenge to the construction of Crown Resorts’ six-star casino and hotel on Sydney Harbour’s foreshore has been dismissed by the Land and Environment Court of NSW.
The Millers Point Fund had challenged a decision by the NSW Planning Assessment Commission to allow Crown’s development at Barangaroo, over concerns about a change to its location within the harbourside precinct.
The foreshore site for the project was originally designated as a public park, with the casino to be built further back, but in June the commission approved the construction of the casino on the waterfront.
