RBT man had gunshot wounds

Police have discovered a man with gunshot wounds after pulling over a ute during a random breath testing operation in Sydney’s west.

It’s understood a 27-year-old was in the front passenger seat of the ute in Merrylands, which was pulled over around 2.20am today.

He had gunshot wounds to his stomach and groin.

He was moved to the ute’s tray before being treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He is expected to have surgery later today.

Four other men who were in the ute were taken in for questioning.
