Woman hit by bus in CBD

A woman in her 30s is in a critical condition after being hit by a bus while attempting to cross George Street in Sydney’s CBD.

Northbound traffic was blocked to allow police to investigate the incident.

At about 2.45pm on Sunday officers from the Police Transport Command and Sydney City Local Area Command were called to George Street after reports of a woman injured at the location.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for surgery.

The bus driver will be taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

A crime scene has been established at the location and will be examined by specialist forensic officers.
