A former employee of a nursing home in Sydney’s Blue Mountains has been charged with the indecent assault of several residents.

Staff at the home contacted police in February after reports seven elderly women at the home had been indecently assaulted.

Police say a 57-year-old male employee at the home was sacked a month earlier when management became aware of the allegations.

The man was arrested this week and charged with six counts of aggravated indecent assault.

Police allege the assaults occurred between 2011 and this year.

The man has been granted bail and will face court later this month.
