One of NSW’s most wanted arrested

One of NSW’s most wanted men has been arrested in Western Australia.

Changjie Wang, 23, was wanted over the stabbing murder of his flatmate Gongcheng Chen in Auburn in Sydney’s west on February 3.

A week after Mr Chen’s death, NSW police added Wang to the state’s most wanted list and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Strike Force Grantsdale was formed to investigate the death and on Friday night officers were alerted that he had been arrested in Perth by Western Australian police.

Detectives from Flemington Local Area Command are expected to fly to Perth in coming days to apply for the man’s extradition to NSW, police said in a statement on Saturday.

His arrest comes after Mr Chen’s mother and sister appeared before the media on Monday, appealing for anyone with information about the murder to come forward.
