A 65-year-old man has drowned after falling into the Georges River in Sydney’s inner-west.

The man’s body was found in the river near Broughton Street on Friday evening.

Police believe the man was walking alone near the river when he accidentally fell into the water and couldn’t get out.

Inquiries are continuing, but police say they don’t believe the incident is suspicious.
