A woman has died after a swimming pool accident at Casino.

The 19 year old woman and two other people went to the pool located on Centre Street in Casino around 11 o’clock on Saturday night.

Police believe the woman dived into the shallow end of the pool and hit her head.

Her two friends went to her aid.

Paramedics were called to the scene and treated her injuries.

She was transferred to the Lismore Base Hospital in a critical condition.

The woman died in hospital yesterday.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
