Man killed by truck on Sydney’s M4 motorway

A man has been killed by a truck as he walked on the M4 motorway in Sydney’s west.

Police say the man was hit near the James Ruse Drive on-ramp at Granville about 5:30am (AEDT).

Emergency service workers tried without success to revive the man.

The truck driver stopped at the scene and has been questioned by police.

Police say he will undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

The incident has caused major delays for morning commuters.

Roads and Maritime Services says two of the three city-bound lanes of the M4 remain closed, with a 12km queue on the motorway and a 6km queue of motorists on James Ruse Drive.
