The incident prompted a day-long search, with police looking for two cars it was thought Mr Gordon may have been driving.

Late in the afternoon the nine-week-old boy was delivered to Wollongong Hospital but Mr Gordon did not present himself to a police station.
Police gave no details about the circumstances in which the nine-week-old boy was located.

Officers had said they were not considering the case an abduction, and issued a message to Mr Gordon that he would not be arrested if he reported to a police station.
