The White House’s red room was the scene of an unusual tantrum at a Passover dinner, according to a viral photo posted to Twitter.

Claudia Moser, daughter of White House correspondent Laura Moser, was not intimidated by the gravity of meeting American President Barack Obama.

Ms Moser posted a picture of her daughter face-down on the ground at Mr Obama’s feet before dinner got underway.

“Just one of ten tantrums that hour,” Ms Moser said on Twitter, impressed that her daughter “is an Internet meme!”.

Taking it all in his stride, the President and father of two made the best of the situation, calmly smiling at the camera as White House photographer Pete Souza snapped the picture.

The picture was posted on Twitter and has been retweeted 369 times.

In May 2014 Silas McComb, who seemed to be making his own fun in the blue room, was snapped doing a face-plant into a plush couch.

Silas was present while his father Sean was there to receive a national Teacher of the Year award.

The president seems to be well-versed in dealing with the whims of children.

In May 2014 he was photographed doing a meet-and-greet at Chicago’s airport while a baby screamed in his direction.

The Moser picture now challenges one of the most infamous pictures of youthful disaffection featuring President Obama’s own daughters.

A picture of the president pardoning two turkeys ahead of Thanksgiving 2014 with his daughters Malia and Sasha alongside made headlines for its honest portrayal of teenage angst.
