Clooney to wed

An entertainment website is reporting that Hollywood actor and ‘confirmed bachelor’ George Clooney is set to marry British human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin after a whirlwind romance of just seven months.

Oscar winning Clooney, who recently starred in blockbuster, Gravity, and Alamuddin were seen dining at Malibu restaurant with friends Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber last week, with a Alamuddin sporting a ”massive” ring on her finger, according to sources E-News and People magazine.

Sources reported the actor Edward Norton congratulated the couple who then celebrated into the night.

The couple were seen together in October at a dinner party together, the pair presumably bonding over their shared concern for global human rights and work with the United Nations.

For Clooney, 52, this will his second marriage, having been married to Talia Blasam from 1989 to 1993, after which he vowed never to do such a thing again.

In 2013, he told Esquire magazine of his marital ambitions: “I haven’t had aspirations in that way, ever.

“I was married in 1989. I wasn’t very good at it. I was quoted as saying I’ll never get married again pretty much right after I got divorced and then I’ve never talked about it since.”

This will be the first marriage for Alamuddin.
