He’s a lucky Guy

Guy Sebastian is jetting to Los Angeles to take part in a tribute to legendary Motown singer Smokey Robinson.

The event, which is billed as a tribute to Robinson, also features queen of funk, singer Chaka Khan, and is run by a charitable US entertainment organisation called The Thalians.

Robinson himself is due to make an appearance at the event at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles on Saturday (US time).

Sebastian tweeted his excitement as he left for the US on Friday.

“Off to LA for a gig with Smokey Robinson at the house of blues. Gonna be a great night!” he tweeted.

Robinson’s most well-known hits include The Tracks of My Tears (1965) and The Tears of A Clown (1970), which he released with his band The Miracles.

The event will benefit UCLA Operation Mend, helping wounded members of the American Army.
