Bunbury farewells ex-mayor and GP

The funeral service for former Bunbury mayor, Ern Manea, will be held in Bunbury today.

Dr Manea died last week aged 86.

He delivered more than 3,500 babies in his 60 years as a general practitioner after moving to the south-west city in 1952.

He spent two terms as mayor and was heavily involved in local sporting groups.

Fellow former mayor David Smith described Dr Manea as one of the greatest contributors to the south-west community.

The wake will be held at the Bunbury Trotting Club and is open to the public.
