A system outage at international airport check-in points across the nation has been fixed after causing delays for passengers.

The provider of the Australian Border Force’s advanced passenger processing systems across all major city airports experienced an IT outage on Thursday.

Border force officials were forced to manually check in passengers during the outage, increasing wait times at Melbourne and Sydney airports amid the school holidays.

In an update on Friday, an ABF spokesman confirmed the outage had been resolved and the service provider would monitor the system’s stability.
