The High Court has finalised the cases of several current and former federal MPs embroiled in the long-running dual citizenship saga.

Writs against Scott Ludlam, Malcolm Roberts, Nick Xenophon, Matt Canavan, Bob Day, Barnaby Joyce, Rod Culleton, Katy Gallagher and Derryn Hinch were formally “dismissed” by Justice Michelle Gordon on Wednesday.

Former deputy prime minister Mr Joyce was listed for a further directions hearing, but the court was told the case was “discontinued”.

Counsel for former One Nation senator Mr Roberts agreed to a consent order to pay $200, due to him sitting in parliament after writs against him were issued.

Mr Ludlam and fellow former Greens senator Larissa Waters are also being pursued for $200, but their counsel argues it does not apply because the pair resigned before writs against them were issued in October 2017.

That matter has been adjourned for further submissions, but no future date has been set.

Section 44 of the constitution bans dual citizens from sitting in federal parliament but a number of MPs had not renounced their citizenship from other countries or were not aware they had it.

The revelations sparked a series of resignations and by-elections.

Mr Joyce was re-elected to his New England seat after finding out he was a New Zealand citizen, but he remains on the backbench and is currently on leave following the public breakdown of his marriage and birth of a son with his former media advisor Vikki Campion.
