Footage of an Australia Post employee casually tossing parcels without “a care in the world” into the back of his van has sparked outrage among customers.

The video, shot at a Melbourne post office, shows the postman picking up parcels from a tray and throwing over his shoulder with one arm into his van.

“Not a care in the world with our packages,” Glenn Burr, who posted the video, wrote on Facebook.

“Throw them in and don’t even look where they land.”

The video has been viewed more than 150,000 times and more than shared 3500 times, with users expressing outrage.

“Omg I hope this bloke lost his job, no wonder deliveries never come in 1 piece absolutely disgusting,” one commenter wrote.

“I’ve done this job before and I’m mortified! How the hell does he find each parcel when he gets to the drop address?!” another said.

“Disgraceful … and I bet this isn’t the only one who does it,” one person commented.

“I hope Australia Post were shown this video of how this employee treats the customers parcels. Thats disgusting,” another wrote.

An Australian Post spokeswoman told Channel Nine the company is investigating the incident.

“This is clearly not in line with our delivery and safe handling procedures and we have begun an investigation into this incident,” the spokeswoman said.

However, some customers were on the Australia Post worker’s side, noting this happens throughout a parcels journey.

“This would be the most gentle those items have been handled during the whole process … people are so naive,” one wrote.

“Seriously folk, think about a parcels journey. Your little parcel is one of millions and everyone wants their delivery made pronto. Get a grip, if fragile pack it so. Otherwise your clothes, books etc won’t break,” another said.
