A man has clocked a kangaroo in order to save his farm dog in a viral video posted to Facebook.

The footage, set somewhere in the Australian outback, has been viewed 1.5 million times since being uploaded on Sunday.

In the short video, which appears to have featured in some kind of reality TV show, the roaming farmer witnesses his loyal companion in the grips of a kangaroo roughly his size.

Watch the video below:

“The big buck has hold of the dog and not the other way around,” a narrator’s voice describes, as the owner tries to scare away the kangaroo.

“The buck roo sees the odds stacking against him and tries to get the dog with its claws one last time,” says the narrator.

Eventually, the kangaroo releases the dog and fronts up to the brave farmer, who assumes his best boxing stance.

“To save himself, he launches a right hand to the kangaroo’s mouth,” cries the enthusiastic narrator.

After punching the shocked marsupial, the owner calls to its dogs and runs back to the vehicle.

The video was posted by Facebook group Central Texas Bowhunter, which features an array of wild animal videos from all over the world.
