A one-year-old baby was found in a car that reached speeds of up to 150km/h while street racing in Sydney’s west, police have alleged.

Two cars, being driven by a man and a woman, both aged 19, were clocked at 45km/h over the 80km/h speed limit on the Great Western Highway at Eastern Creek at about 5:15pm on Wednesday, police said.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped the two cars while they were racing, a police statement said.

Police said the baby boy, along with two adults, were passengers in the car being driven by the woman.

Officers said both drivers were issued Field Court Attendance Notices for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and street racing.

They will appear at Blacktown Local Court on April 5.

The Department of Family and Community Services was informed of the incident, police said.
