Two of the most wanted men in Australia have been spotted at a petrol station in north east Victoria, according to police.

Gino Stocco, 57, and his son Mark, 35, were reportedly seen at about 6:30pm on Monday, at a service station in the town of Euroa.

The sighting occurred several hours after a Toyota Landcruiser with distinctive white bull bars was stolen from a property at Little Billabong near Holbrook.

The men are wanted over an alleged shootout with NSW police on Friday and a string of other offences.

The shootout occurred near Wagga Wagga after the pair failed to pull over for police.

It is believed they were armed with a high-powered SKS rifle at the time they were filmed on CCTV in Euroa and during the pursuit.

Officers said the men paid for their fuel and then left the station in an unknown direction.

The white 2013 Toyota Landcruiser can travel up to 800 kilometres between refills.

Its NSW number plate is BV7WP and there is a distinctive green esky and two blue chairs in the tray.

The Stoccos dumped the Nissan Navara they were in when they allegedly shot at police on Friday, then escaped on foot.

Police said anyone who sees a similar white Toyota Landcruiser should report it to authorities, even if the number plate did not match.

They have also said the pair have many contacts in Victoria, and warned anyone from approaching the armed and dangerous men.

Nine arrest warrants had been issued in the past four years for the father and son across NSW and Queensland.

The fugitives had previously been convicted for identity theft and fraud, stealing from and defrauding a soldier, a priest, plus family and friends.
