Police blocked off streets around Parliament House as protesters holding “no room for racism” signs took to the streets.

There have been reports of clashes between the two groups.

Anti-Islamic groups Reclaim Australia and the United Patriots Front are planning rallies in several cities and towns today.

Subsequent anti-racism groups have launched counter rallies in response.

There were violent scenes when the two groups met during demonstrations in Melbourne earlier this year and there are fears that could flare up again.
