It is believed the gunman drove away from the scene in a dark-coloured hatchback, although police could not confirm if a weapon was fired from inside or outside the vehicle.

Police are still trying to apprehend the alleged criminal, who is believed by authorities to be known to the victim.

The incident occurred at a property at Westbourne Grove, where ambulance crews treated the male victim just after 11am.

The victim was not a resident of a street where he was shot, and is known to police.
