Two bodies found at Vic property

A man and woman have been found dead at a rural property in northern Victoria and police say their deaths are linked to an earlier shooting.

Officers found the bodies when they visited a property in Murrabit West early on Sunday morning.

They were investigating a shooting at a home in Kerang, about 30km away, late on Saturday night, during which a man allegedly fired a shotgun, hitting a woman in the hand and neck and injuring another man in the shoulder.

“A male occupant at the address wrestled the gunman and managed to disarm him, but suffered a gun shot wound to his shoulder,” police said in a statement.

The injured woman needed to be flown to Melbourne for treatment.

The two bodies are yet to be formally identified, but police say they are not looking for any other person in relation to the shooting.
