Body found in park, man sought

Police have warned the public not to approach a man they want to interview about the discovery of a woman’s body in Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens.

Police want to speak to 42-year-old Scott Allen Miller and have released his photo to media.

Homicide squad Detective Sergeant Nathan Favre said some items found at the crime scene have led police to want to speak to Miller.

He declined to reveal what was found.

A jogger discovered the victim’s body in the Royal Botanic Gardens on Saturday morning.

The dead woman has not been formally identified.

Detective Sergeant Favre said Miller was originally from Western Australia and has been sleeping on the streets for several weeks.

He said Miller was known to police in Western Australia, but is not known to be violent.

Police think Miller may be in the Melbourne central business district and have urged anyone who sees him not to approach him but to contact police immediately.
