Police in Melbourne are hunting a sexual predator who is targeting women joggers wearing headphones.

The man has attacked three women over the past two weeks, grabbing each of them from behind and indecently assaulting them.

The first two attacks happened in Newport, while the third and latest incident was on Wednesday, near the Yarraville Gardens in neighbouring Yarraville.

In all three cases the women were running between the hours of 6am and 8am (AEST) with headphones on.

Detectives want to talk to anyone who may have seen the attacks, or spotted a man in those areas matching the offender’s description.

Police say the man is Caucasian in appearance, aged between 20 and 30, and between 160 and 170cm tall.

He was wearing a hooded top pulled up over his head, tracksuit pants and runners at the time of the attacks.
