Two arrested over Melbourne CBD assault

Two men have been arrested over an assault that left a young man with serious injuries in Melbourne’s CBD.

The 23-year-old victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries in the alleged attack in Flinders Lane early on Sunday.

Police believe the victim may have been involved in an altercation with two security staff in a licensed venue about 3am (AEST).

A 23-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were arrested at the scene.

Police are keen to speak to the driver of the green ute, possibly a Holden, that was in Flinders Lane at the time of the incident.

It is believed the victim approached the ute for help as it drove past.
