Bo Xilai appeal against life sentence rejected by Chinese court
Fallen Chinese political star Bo Xilai has had his appeal rejected.
In August the one-time powerful politician was sentenced to life for receiving bribes, embezzlement and abuse of power.
During his original trial he surprised observers by putting up a strong defence rather than throwing himself on the mercy of the court.
He said the bribes had gone to his wife who also murdered a British businessman together with her lover the police chief.
He then appealed, but in China appeals of this nature rarely succeed and the Shandong high court has rejected his arguments.
