Melbourne Zoo’s new baby baboon says hello

A minuscule baby baboon at Melbourne Zoo has broken loose of her protective parent to greet adoring fans.

Almost two months after her birth, little Gana on Thursday climbed off the back of attentive mother Grace to wander along the ground as the baboon brigade were fed breakfast.

Gana, who could have been fathered by one of two resident males, is the fourth baboon born at the Victorian zoo to separate mothers after a birth-free 15-year stretch ended in 2015.
