A Heinz beans advert in the United Kingdom showing people beating out a song on tin cans has been banned for being too dangerous.

The ad featured people using empty and full tins to belt out the rhythm of a song and included the hashtag #Learn the CanSong.

But Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled that Heinz’s Can Song advert should not be broadcast again in its current form after nine people complained that the ad encouraged unsafe practices or could be dangerous for children to copy.

The Advertising Standards Authority ruled that mistakes might be made that could lead to people cutting their hands or fingers.

The company which makes the beans, Kraft Heinz, denied that the advertising campaign posed a risk.

Three viewers complained that the ad could encourage unsafe practices, while six believed it featured behaviour that could be dangerous for children to copy.

It argued that consumers would be unlikely to be as proficient as the actors at flipping and twirling the cans around.

Heinz even included a safety tutorial advising people to tape the can before use, but this also failed to sway the ASA.
