The Promobot IR77, which learns from its experiences and its surroundings, was found in the middle of the street in the city of Perm.

The robot, designed to work in customer relations, wandered off before running out battery 45 minutes later.

Improving on the first instance, where it slipped through a gate that had not been shut properly and was found strolling outside in the yard.

The robot’s yearn for freedom could not be quenched, despite two failed reprogramming attempts.

However, Oleg Kivokurtsev, co-founder of the research laboratory, which created the ‘Promotional Robot’, admitted its nomadic days may be numbered.

“We are currently working on third-generation robots which we plan to launch in autumn. This is why we have given all the robots artificial intelligence (AI),” he told The Mirror.

“We have changed the AI system twice, so now I think we might have to dismantle it.”
