Moby Dick’s adventure

When storms lashed South Australia this week, Moby Dick, part of the Riverbank Christmas Lights Display in Adelaide, escaped.

The whale sculpture floated down the river but has since been returned. Moby Dick made a similar escape in 2005.

Apology to thalidomide survivors

Thalidomide survivors were finally issued a national apology after years of campaigning.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the apology for the morning sickness drug which caused birth defects was “unreserved and overdue”, and that a survivor support program would be reopened.

Tobacco store fire

Victoria Police released shocking footage of an arson attack at a Glenroy tobacco store which happened earlier this year.

A car is seen ramming into the store front’s roller door and then someone is seen setting fire to the building.

Storm rolls into Sydney

Sydney was hit with some pretty intense storms this week.

This video captured on Wednesday shows the storm clouds rolling over the city, looking ever so threatening.

Fence ripped apart

The storm was so intense it completely destroyed one resident’s fence.

The fencing sheets ripped off in a gust of wind and flew through the air.

Teen saves the day

A NSW teenager jumped into action and saved 20 students on a bus after it rolled away while the driver was fuelling up the tank.

Izzy Miller jumped into the empty driver’s seat when she noticed the bus was moving and steered it and the passengers to safety.

Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter was buried in her hometown of Plains, Georgia this week.

Dog waits to shake

This cheeky dog waited until it was right next to a human before shaking off water after going for a dip.

In the video, a person knew exactly what was going to happen as the dog emerged from the water. The dog ran straight for them and started shaking furiously.
