Disturbing footage has emerged that appears to show tennis player Bernard Tomic being callously beaten by two male attackers.
The video circulating on social media was filmed outside a tattoo parlour in Surfers Paradise, Queensland.
However it’s not known when it was filmed. Tomic is currently in Istanbul, Turkey, playing on the Challenger Tour.
Queensland Police told media they were aware of a video but were unable to investigate because no formal complaint had been made.
The brief 16-second clip shows a man, believed to be Tomic, lying on the floor and attempting to defend himself.
Cornered against a wall, Tomic is wearing a grey track suit, white socks and black sneakers.
The two unidentified men standing over him are kicking and stomping, and one can be heard saying “Get up ya dog” while grabbing Tomic by his jumper.
The attacker’s backs are to the camera, while a third person is filming.
Tomic raises his arms and legs in an apparent attempt to protect himself.
The Queensland tennis player, aged 30, is currently ranked 292, having clawed back from 825.
During a career high he was ranked in 17th spot.
Tomic’s representatives and Tennis Australia have not commented.
