Two teenagers charged over a series of Melbourne home invasions involving a machete-wielding gang have appeared in court.

Adhel Adhel, 19, and Neok Mongrag, 18, appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged with aggravated burglary, theft and bail offences.

The pair did not apply for bail and have been remanded into custody to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on April 12.

Adhel and Mongrag are among six teens taken into custody overnight after a gang allegedly armed with a machete, poles and wooden stakes raided homes in Caroline Springs and Greensborough between 1am and 4am on Friday.

Police say the gang also tried to smash their way into two houses in St Albans and Truganina, but were unable to get inside.

Three 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy have also been charged and will appear before a children’s court at a later date.
