A NSW Young Liberals meeting has been shut down after it was gatecrashed by two protesters wearing Ku Klux Klan-style hoods.

The men, wearing white sheets with eyeholes poked out, took to the stage during debate about US President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

In a video of the incident, posted by Buzzfeed, the men are seen parading around the room, with some attendees heard to be laughing and cheering.

The two men are escorted from the building, while one attendee is seen yelling “white power” into the camera. Others in the room are wearing red ‘Make America Great Again’ hats.

A Young Liberals source told News Corp that it was suspected the protesters were from outside the party.

“People were pretty apoplectic … they booed and jeered them,” the source said.

Another person told Buzzfeed that the protesters were not known to those at the meeting.

“Everyone is shaken up. No one is laughing this off. This is serious,” they told Buzzfeed.

“They were complete randoms. This is so unfair that we are going to be tarnished by them.”

The meeting, at Sydney’s Tattersalls Club, was called off about 9pm and a complaint was made to police.

NSW Liberal party director Chris Stone said the party would investigate.

“The identities of the protestors were not known to those present at the meeting. The meeting was immediately adjourned and the protestors ejected. An investigation into the incident will be undertaken,” Stone said, according to Buzzfeed.

“The Liberal Party strongly condemns the highly offensive nature of this protest.”
